The Celox-A applicator is a prefilled applicator with 6 grams of Celox hemostatic agent to control and stop bleeding in emergency situations. The Celox Applicator with plunger is narrow to be able to get the blood clotting agent to the source of the bleeding in the event of small entry wound, knife wound, gunshot or a penetrating wound. Includes a high-speed plunger to get to the bleeding fast and efficiently.
Celox contains Chitosan which is a derivative of shellfish that has been shown in studies to be efficient in clotting blood even when the patient is on blood-thinners. Celox haemostatic granules promote rapid clot formation through absorbtion and dehydration, once applied to a wound it forms a gel-like plug. Celox is easy to remove so that emergency medical personnel can continue with treatment.
Uses include life-threatening, emergency bleeding, stop the bleed kits, emergency response medical kits or gunshot first aid kits. Usage instructions; push the applicator into the wound, expelling the Celox material, filling the wound cavity, cover with bandage or gauze and apply pressure for 5 minutes or until bleeding stops.
